Having grown all our plants and seeds, we care deeply for them and know you will too, however, we have to set out our Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before purchasing.
NAMING
We believe all our plants and seeds are correctly named but, if you find out this is not the case, please contact us.
PAYMENT
We accept payment through the shopping cart by credit or debit card.
SUBSTITUTES
We do not send substitutes unless you have requested them but we may get in touch with you to ask if you would like one should anything be out of stock.
PLANTS & BULBS
Plants will be offered for sale in spring only. An online catalogue will be published on the website with postal rates for parcels. Plants and bulbs can only be purchased by customers in Scotland, England, Wales and Isle of Man. We cannot send plants, bulbs or bulbils to Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, the EU or the rest of the world.
EU & INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS
We cannot provide phytosanitary certificates. We cannot be held responsible for seeds being lost, confiscated by Customs authorities or import duties being applied. For US customers, please note we do not participate in the Small Lots Scheme as it incurs too much cost and time to make it worthwhile. Unfortunately, we must suspend exports to Austria and Sweden for the foreseeable future.
DELIVERY
We aim to dispatch all plant orders within 3 weeks, weather permitting, and seed orders within 1 week. Once you have paid for your order, we cannot combine additional orders into one packet and refund shipping charges as it can cause confusion and costs us time and money to refund your card. Seed orders within the UK are sent by 1st class mail, overseas orders are sent by Airmail letter post. A confirmation email will be sent on the day your goods are dispatched. We are not responsible for delivery times and some orders may be held up overseas due to unforeseen circumstances. If you wish, we can tell the courier to leave your parcel in a safe place, designated by you, but this is entirely at your own risk and we are not liable for damage or theft once it is left in your safe place.
POSTAGE & PACKAGING
The postal cost on plant orders is calculated automatically at checkout and is based on weight. Plant orders from GB customers are sent by Royal Mail and aim to reach their destination within 2 working days. Any orders over 6kg are sent in multiple boxes so will incur more cost. Seeds are packed in glassine envelopes. Moist packed seeds come in damp vermiculite in ziplock bags. All seed packets are labelled with growing instructions (which, with trial and error over the years, have worked for us). Seed is dispatched all year round and posted in padded envelopes.
PERSONAL DATA
Please refer to our PRIVACY POLICY to see how we handle customer's personal information.
COMPLAINTS
We would not send out goods that we ourselves would not be happy to receive. In the unlikely event you have a complaint then please email the nursery at [email protected] immediately upon arrival of your goods. Please appreciate that plants are living things and may be dormant when reaching you and so will show no growth at all (especially herbaceous perennials), and that seed may require time and a little patience in order to germinate.
If your parcel has arrived damaged, or in poor condition please notify us. We will require you to send us a photograph to confirm the condition in which you received it. We can arrange a replacement or refund to be sent if the goods have arrived dead or are unlikely to grow.
Please remember we are not responsible once the goods have been planted in the ground or seed is sown due to either poor and inappropriate care, or the effects of extremes of weather.
Customers have the right cancel any order and to return the goods to us within 14 days in their original packing. Once we have inspected the goods and are happy that they have been returned in good condition, we will refund the cost of the goods. However, we will not refund any postal costs.
