A clump-forming, dwarf species from China that is very rare in cultivation and produces attractive, finely dissected, fern-like foliage (which is a lovely bronze colour when young) and tubular, white and pale lilac-blue flowers from late spring into early summer. Height 18 cm. Moist, well-drained soil in part sun to part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Sow immediately upon receipt no matter the time of the year. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot outdoors or in cold frame. Seeds germinate in spring.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots for growing on.
