Semiaquilegia ecalcarata W/O-9057
25 seeds per packet.
The seeds we offer have been harvested from plants grown by us from seed collected August Wu and Bjørnar Olsen in Sichuan, China. An exquisite species that is native to the open woodlands of China. It is similar to Aquilegia but has spurless flowers which are swollen at the base. Produces clump-forming, dainty, ferny foliage and small, nodding, dusky mauve-purple flowers in spring to early summer. Height 30 cm. Part shade to sun in moist, well-drained soil.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
