Cirsium botryodes W/O-9092
15 seeds per packet.
The seeds we offer have been harvested from plants grown by us from seed collected by August Wu and Bjørnar Olsen in Yunnan, China. A robust, perennial species, unknown in cultivation and native to the mountain valleys of China. It produces extremely large, dissected, spikey leaves with distinctive white veining, cotton haired stems with spikey, cobwebby, brown-red, stately flower heads with white pollen that bees adore. Flowering July to September. Height 1.5 metres. Sun in moisture retentive soil.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
