Ajuga lupulina BO-15-009
15 seeds per packet.
A rare species in cultivation that is native to China, Tibet and Western Nepal. The seeds we offer have been collected from plants grown by us from seed collected by Bjørnar Olsen in Sichuan, China at 3800 metres. An attractive species forming rosettes with cream coloured bracts with flowers hidden beneath them. Flowering July to September. Height 30 cm. Moist but well-drained soil in sun to part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
Please note that germination can be erratic with this species.
