Thalictrum rochebrunianum Giant Meadow Rue

A tall, slender species that is native to Japan. Produces delicate, fern-like, bluish-green foliage and clusters of pendulous, lavender flowers with yellow stamens, held on erect, purple stems (the plant does not require staking) followed by attractive, purple seed heads. Flowering July to August. Height 180 cm. Moist, humus rich, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
