Seeds need to be sown immediately upon receipt. Very limited packets available and for a limited time only. Seeds are packed in damp tissue inside bio-degradable bags (seeds need to be kept with a degree of moisture or they will be no longer viable). Seeds are intended for more experienced growers.

Podophyllum mairei is a rare plant in cultivation and is native to the forests of China. It produces dramatic, large, shiny, toothed leaves and clusters of hanging, reddish-pink flowers held under the foliage, followed by green fruits (these should not be eaten as they are toxic). Height to 60 cm. Cool, moist, humus rich soil in part shade.
Podophyllum pleianthum is a rarely offered and attractive plant, native to the forests of China and Taiwan that produces dramatic, large, shiny, toothed leaves and clusters of hanging, deep reddish purple flowers followed by green fruits (these should not be eaten as they are toxic). Height to 60 cm. Cool, moist, humus rich soil in part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Sow immediately upon receipt. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot outdoors or in cold frame. Seeds germinate in spring.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots for growing on.
