A ground covering, suckering species that is native to the moist, broad-leaved forests of Japan. This collection was made by Patrick Blanc from Japan. Produces vigorous clumps of erect, serrated, small, glossy, veined leaves and white panicles of tiny, white flowers in the leaf axils in autumn. A member of the Urticaceae family that does not sting. Height up to 60 cm. Moist, humus rich soil in part to full shade. Hardy to -17 C.
