Meconopsis aculeata 'Purple'
40 seeds per packet. Seed has been collected from the violet-purple coloured plant in the photographs (originally grown from Chris Chadwell seed). A thorny, monocarpic species that is native to the western Himalayas and is highly variable in flower colour. Produces distinctive, lobed leaves and upright stems carrying a succession of flowers. Flowering May to June. Height up to 60 cm. Part sun in moist but well-draining soil. Cold germinator.
