A perennial species that is native to Nepal and the east and west Himalayas, that produces lance-shaped leaves (which are white underneath) and umbels of nodding, scented, violet-purple flowers with black eyes. Flowering May to June. Height 30 cm. Moist, humus rich soil in a cool position in part shade. Cold germinator.
