Roscoea purpurea ‘Red Gurkha’
A stunning and sought after plant producing large, scarlet red flowers and stout, dark red stems in August to September. Compared to other Roscoea species, it emerges from growth very late in the season from June to July. Height 40 cm. Part sun to part shade in humus rich, well-drained soil. With us it is hardy in the ground with a winter mulch.
