Impatiens forrestii SOLD OUT
A hardy, perennial species still rare in cultivation that is endemic to NW Yunnan and SW Sichuan China. Produces soft, elongated, serrated leaves and large, reddish-purple, amazingly veined, orchid-like flowers with curling spurs from late summer into late autumn. Height 50 to 90 cm. Moist, humus rich, well-drained soil in part to full shade in a cool position. Hardy to -12 C (possibly more) in the ground with a winter mulch but if pot grown it requires full protection from frosts.
