Hemiboea subcapitata False Sinningia SOLD OUT
A rare, herbaceous member of the Gesneriaceae family and one of the hardiest, native to the moist woodlands of China. Produces succulent, glossy, dark foliage, stems mottled in purple at the bottom and tubular white flowers with purple spotting inside. Spreads to form clumps via rhizomes buried just under the soil surface. Flowering September to October. Height 45 cm. Part to full shade in a sheltered position in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil. Hardy to -17 C, probably more.
