Begonia chuyunshanensis PB 07-1111 Back in stock 2022
1 packet of approximately 100+, naturally small, hand pollinated, fresh seeds. A recently discovered species from Taiwan that is rare in cultivation and hardy to -8C. A Patrick Blanc collection. Produces erect stems from rhizomes with elongated leaves and good-sized pale pink flowers. Height to 40 to 80 cm. Part shade in a cool, sheltered position in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil.
I often get asked how to sow Begonia successfully. I find them easy but I've been doing it for some years - the main thing is warmth, light and humidity. I use a peat-free compost with added horticultural sand and surface sow the tiny seeds as they need light to germinate. I could go into more detail but space won't permit so here is a good, detailed link for those who would like to give it a try: www.begonias.org/greenhouse/…/brads_articles/seedgrowing.htm
