A rare, a superlative Japanese selection of the Shredded Umbrella Plant in the Asteraceae family, which is grown as a foliage plant. ‘Kikkou Fu’ (meaning tortoiseshell pattern) produces deeply cut, palmate foliage like an umbrella that is exquisitely patterned with a netting of bright yellow (by summer the variegation fades and the leaves turn to green). Forms clumps once established. Height 90 cm. Sheltered, humus rich, well-drained soil in part shade.
