Neottia ovata Common Twayblade Orchid
Contents of several seed pods (1000's). Wild seed collected from our farm's woodland and grassland. Seed has been responsibly harvested - as we have very large populations growing here, taking a small amount will not be detrimental. Neottia ovata is a native UK species growing in ancient, undisturbed woodland and grassland. It produces two large, glossy, broad, oval-shaped green leaves and a spike of yellow-green flowers that which resemble miniature people on closer inspection. Flowering May to August. Height up to 60 cm. Light to full shade in damp soil. Seeds are slow to germinate and take over 7 years to reach maturity.
