Geranium polyanthes PBR 1175
10 seeds per packet.
The seeds we offer have been harvested from plants grown by us from seeds originally collected by Pascal Bruggman in W. Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh at 3208 metres.
A rare species in cultivation and native to the Himalayas, China (Sichuan, NW. Yunnan) and N. Myanmar. This stunning collection differs from the other G. polyanthes we offer by having larger and more open, vivid pink flowers with incredible deep magenta-pink backs, followed by black seeds. After flowering has finished, it can go on to produce cleistogamic flowers. Height 10 to 30 cm. Well-drained soil in a sunny position. This species produces seeds that look very different to most Geranium seeds.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
