A rare, deciduous member of the Cystopteridaceae family that is native to the humid forest valleys of Taiwan and which has been newly recorded in Japan (northern and central Honshu and Shikoku). Forms slowly spreading clumps from creeping rhizomes with beautiful, delicate, light green fronds. Height 30 to 70 cm. Grow in a sheltered position in a humus rich, well-drained soil in shade.
Before purchasing, please do an internet search for instructions on how to grow ferns from spores as they are not grown like normal seeds (and instructions are too lengthy to be sent).
