Thalictrum aquilegiifolium var. sibiricum MCW109
10 seeds per packet.
A collection made by the late, great Michael Wickenden as an unknown Thalictrum species, possibly from Yunnan, China. We have waited until it set seeds with us to be able to confirm its identify as Thalictrum aquilegiifolium var. sibiricum. This is a robust variety with large, lobed foliage and opening from pinkish buds, clusters of fluffy, flat topped, white flowers held on erect stems. Flowering May to July. Height 1 to 2 metres. Moist, humus rich, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
