Ajuga ovalifolia W/O-9044
10 seeds per packet.
A very special alpine species and extremely rare in cultivation that we are finally being able to offer for the first time. The seeds we offer have been harvested from plants grown by us from seed collected by August Wu and Bjørnar Olsen in Mugecuo Lake, Kangding, Sichuan, China at 3900 metres. An attractive, low growing species forming rosettes of deep green, elliptical to oval foliage with red veining and whorls of densely clustered, vivid dark blue flowers. Flowering June to September. Height 10 to 20 cm. Moisture retentive but well-drained soil in sun to part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
