Salvia sp. W/O-9223
10 seeds per packet.
The seeds we offer have been harvested from plants grown by us from seed collected by August Wu and Bjørnar Olsen in Yajiageng, Kangding, Sichuan, China at 3750 metres. An unknown species of Salvia that we have yet to identify and frustratingly cannot even find close matches to it at present. Produces a large, basal rosette of distinctive, arrow shaped, crinkly textured, bright green foliage and upright spikes of large, extremely hairy, blue-amethyst coloured flowers with white markings on the lip and wine coloured bracts. Height 60 cm. Well-drained, humus rich soil in full sun to part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
