A very rare species in cultivation, which was only discovered in Japan in 1993 and introduced by Cedric Basset and Marion Lennoz. A low, creeping plant with velvety leaves and pale purple-blue, trumpet flowers. Forms good ground cover. Flowering late summer into autumn. Part shade in humus rich, well-drained soil. We are the first nursery to offer this species in the UK.
