A beautiful species of shrub rose that is native to central and southwestern China. Produces arching branches with fine prickles, attractive pinnate leaves and beautiful, single, white, four petaled flowers in summer, followed by (in this form) dramatic, bi-coloured, orange and red hips in autumn. Ultimate height 4 metres. Well-drained, moisture retentive soil in sun to part shade.
