The plants we offer have been grown by us from seed collected in China. A low growing, dainty perennial in the Caryophyllaceae (Pink) family that is native to mountain valleys and moist forests in southern China, Japan and Korea. Starry, white flowers on erect stems are produced from April to June. The plant’s small white roots are used in Chinese medicine and herbalism to tonify the qi and generate yin fluids, and is known as the "ginseng of the lungs”. Height 20 cm. Part shade in moisture retentive, humus rich, well-drained soil.
