A Japanese selection of the species with beautiful, purple leaves and stems on the younger foliage. A vigorous perennial, native to the sunny mountains and forest edges of Japan. Producers large, tubular, white, bell-shaped flowers with a hint of purple, which are also speckled magenta on the inside. Flowering June to August. Height 40 cm. Sun to part shade in well-drained, moisture retentive soil.
