A magnificent foliage plant collected by Cedric Basset and Marion Lennoz in Japan where it was found by the sea growing in the sun. Produces large, thick, deeply cut, ribbed leaves with pink petioles and narrow, upright, white, pipe cleaner-like flowers from the stems in autumn. A member of the Urticaceae family that neither stings nor spreads. Height 1.5 metres. Moist but well-drained, humus rich soil in sun to part shade.
