A collection originally from Shillong Peak, NE India. A rarely cultivated, perennial herb that is native to the forests of the Himalayas. Produces heart-shaped to ovate leaves and lovely, pinky-white, umbel-like inflorescences. All parts of the plant are used in traditional Indian medicine. Flowers March to May (sometimes with repeat flowering in the autumn). Height 30 - 60 cm. Part sun to part shade in moisture retentive, well-drained soil.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:

Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.

Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
