Valeriana jatamansi Indian Valerian
A rarely cultivated, perennial herb that is native to the forests of the Himalayas. Produces heart-shaped to ovate leaves and lovely, pinky-white, umbel-like inflorescences. All parts of the plant are used in traditional Indian medicine. Flowers March to May (sometimes with repeat flowering in the autumn). Height 30 cm. Part sun to part shade in moisture retentive, well-drained soil.
