Heracleum dissectum from Kazakhstan
The plants we offer have been grown by us from seed collected from Kyrgauldy, Kazakhstan. A robust, short lived perennial that is native to the forest margins and moist grasslands of China, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia and Uzbekistan. Produces magnificent, large, divided leaves, and tall, erect, pubescent stems holding large, flat, white flower heads (that have a pinkish tinge before opening fully). Fantastic plant for bees and other insects. It is an edible plant and its young leaves and stems are consumed as a delicious vegetable in Xinjiang province, China. Flowering June to July. Height up to 2 metres. Moist soil in sun to part shade.
