A low-growing plant that is very rare in cultivation and native to the alpine meadows of Kashmir, India. Produces aromatic, ovate, toothed leaves and upright, woolly, flowering spikes of small, lavender blue flowers with a white lip and intricate purple-veined bracts. Flowering June to August. Height 15 cm. Well-drained soil in sun. Warm germinator. Flowers in its first year from seed.
