Begonia sikkimensis var. kamengensis
A very rare species in cultivation from the Arunachal Pradesh in the Eastern Himalayas. Produces stunning, burgundy and green palmate foliage with pinky-red flowers in the autumn, held on upright burgundy stems. Height 60 cm. Part shade in a cool, sheltered position in moist, humus rich, well-drained soil. This plant has proven to be hardy to -5C if kept dry over winter with a winter mulch though we would recommend keeping your plant totally frost free and keeping it indoors to overwinter as a houseplant.
