A famous native of Japan that produces large, heart-shaped, veined leaves and small, white, Brassica type flowers in spring. Its leaves, stems and rhizomes can be eaten. Height 60 cm. These are very easy plants to grow provided the plant is given a cool position with part shade, in a well drained soil and at all times kept moist but not waterlogged - can be easily pot grown too.
