Asarum splendens Chinese Wild ginger SOLD OUT
One of the easiest Chinese woodland species to grow and one which spreads via underground rhizomes. Large, dramatic, dark green, heart-shaped leaves marbled in silver, and unusual, open-mouthed, purple to brown, 5 cm wide flowers with white markings sit at ground level. Can be grown in the garden or as a potted specimen in moist but well-drained, humus rich soil in part to full shade. Forms good ground cover once established. Will stay evergreen except in the coldest climates.
