A rare, evergreen, clump-forming species in the Saxifrage family collected in Japan by Bleddyn and Sue Wynn-Jones. Attractive, bronze-like leaves with slight, silver patterning and spikes of intricate, miniature, vivid red flowers carried on red stalks. Height 30 cm. Flowering April to May. Moist, well-drained soil in part to full shade.
