Impatiens omeiana DJHC98492
A hardy, clump-forming, tuberous perennial collected from China by Dan Hinkley. Large, orchid-like, yellow and apricot flowers with red spotting in the throats and curling spurs from late summer into autumn. The foliage on this form is more narrow and attractive than others offered in cultivation and is a darker green with a cream stripe along the centre leaf vein. Height 30 to 50 cm. Moist, humus rich, well-drained soil in part to full shade in a cool position. Can be pot grown or planted in the garden. Hardy to -15 C (possibly more) in the ground with a winter mulch. If pot grown, it requires full protection from frosts.
