Impatiens aff. langbianensis HWJ1054
A Daniel Hinkley and Crug Farm collection from north Vietnam. A low growing, creeping, perennial species (rooting where it touches the ground) that produces pinky mauve, orchid-like flowers with reddish purple, curling spurs and hairy foliage. Flowering from summer until the first frosts. Height 20 cm. Moist, humus rich soil in part to full shade in a cool position. Can be pot grown or planted in the garden. From last winter it has proven to be hardy to -12 C in the ground with a thick winter mulch. If pot grown, it requires full protection from frosts.
