A perennial species that is native to the Himalayas. Produces divided foliage and tall, erect stems bearing scabious-like, beautifully fragrant, creamy white flowers with purple-black stamens, which bees and butterflies adore. Flowering late August into October. Height 2 m. Sun to light shade in deep, rich, moist but well-drained soil.
