Begonia aff. sinensis BWJ8133 Available April 2022
A hardy, tuberous, woodland species from China collected by Bleddyn Wynn-Jones that produces light green leaves with green undersides and pendulous, pink flowers. The leaves of this species are more angular than Begonia grandis, which it closely resembles. The plant’s stems produce bulbils in the autumn, these fall to the ground to produce new plants. Comes into growth quite late in the season. Flowering July into autumn. Height 50 cm. Full to part shade in a sheltered position in moist, humus rich, well-drained soil with a winter mulch.
