Silene aomorensis Aomoro Catchfly
A species endemic to the rocky areas of Honshu island in Japan that is very rare in cultivation. Produces rosettes of compact, low growing, lanceolate leaves and large, five petalled, starry, pure white, summer flowers. Height 10 cm. Suitable for a rock garden or the front of a border. Full sun to part shade in moisture retentive, well-draining soil.
