The plants we offer have been grown by us from seed collected by August Wu and Bjørnar Olsen in Xinjiang, China. This diminutive species is native to the grassy slopes of China, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia (western Siberia) and Tajikistan. Produces deep purple, nodding, bell-shaped flowers held on erect stems with feathery, silvery foliage that appears after the flowers have opened in spring. Height 15 cm. Moisture retentive, well drained soil in sun. Suitable for a rock garden.
