Our Plant Catalogue is now closed. We re-open April 2023.
Plants and bulbs can only be purchased by customers in Scotland, England and Wales. We regret that we can no longer accept plant orders from Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and the EU, but we can still send seeds.
All of our plants are grown by us from seed, cuttings or division and vary from year to year.
Plants are sold in 9cm, 1 litre and 2 litre pot sizes. Rhizomes and tubers are sent packed in moss. We have now phased out sending plants in plastic pots to customers and now use cardboard ones. The issue of waste just hasn't sat well with us - even using our grey pots that are made from recycled plastic and were recyclable. These new pots can be planted straight in the ground upon receipt or put into your waste paper recycling or compost heap. There may be a few concerns from our customers about their durability in the post but we can assure you that we have tested these out - even with plants with extremely wet bottoms they have lasted well over a week without losing their strength. By transferring your plants to these before dispatch, it also allows us to re-use our current plastic pots for many years to come without the need to buy more plastic. The plastic waste generated from the horticultural industry remains huge and seems particularly at odds when gardeners imagine that by purchasing a plant they are helping create a green space (not landfill!). Our hope is that more nurseries will say no to plastic in the future and this will become commonplace.
All plants are flowering size unless it says 'Young Plant' in the description. Some larger plants may have their foliage trimmed back to be able to post them - this will do the plant no harm. All our plants have proven to be hardy here in rural, southern Scotland (unless the description says otherwise).
All our packing materials are fully recyclable.
