Impatiens rhombifolia SOLD OUT
A hardy, perennial, creeping species still very rare in cultivation that is endemic to Mt. Emei in Sichuan, China. Produces small, thick, serrated leaves and bright yellow, orchid-like flowers with red spotting and long spurs in autumn. This species trails onto the ground and root at the nodes, rather than staying upright, and forms excellent ground cover here. Height 15 cm. Moist, humus rich, well-drained soil in part to full shade in a cool, sheltered position. Hardy to -15 C (possibly a little more) in the ground with a winter mulch but if pot grown it requires full protection from frosts.
