A tuberous, climbing perennial that is native to the understorey of forests in Nepal and south Tibet. Produces attractive, fern-like foliage with silver markings and clusters of hanging, bright yellow flowers with tips that turn orange-red with age. Flowering summer into autumn. Height 7 to 20 m. Part shade in moisture retentive, well-drained soil in a sheltered position. Will climb to cover fences or through shrubs.
