Clematis sibirica from Kazakhstan (Atragene sibirica)
10 seeds per packet.
The seeds we offer have been harvested from plants grown by us from seeds collected from Kyrgauldy, Kazakhstan at 2500 metres by Aleksandr Naumenko. A beautiful species, native to the forests and forest margins of China, Japan, Mongolia, Russia and NW Europe, with lantern-shaped, creamy-white flowers borne on long, slender stalks. Flowering July to August. Height up to 5 m. Well-drained, moisture retentive soil in part sun to part shade.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Can be sown from autumn to June. Cover seed thinly, press in gently and keep top of compost from drying out. Keep pot cool over winter. Keep warm at 15 to 20°C in spring until germination, then move to somewhere cooler.
Carefully prick out seedlings when they have developed true leaves and are large enough to transplant to individual pots to grow on.
